Our three founders, Jay, Paul and Rob are all Chefs, but most importantly we are foodies.
We have spent our entire working lives in the industry, but our love of food isn’t just contained to the work place, at home our kitchens really are the base for all kinds of food experimentations, adventures and mis-adventures, where we can go from building our own pizza ovens, cheese smokers or makeshift Tandoor ovens, to simple family Sunday lunches and barbeques.
Our blog is the little corner of our website that we will use to chronicle our many culinary adventures.
We are a cookery school so it is important to us that we show the real methods and processes of how we do things, not just the well-practiced polished versions, you often see on T.V. Because it is true that we learn far more from our failures than our successes.
"Children have a lesson adults should learn, to not be ashamed of failing, but to get up and try again. Most of us adults are so afraid, so cautious, so ‘safe,' and therefore so shrinking and rigid and afraid that it is why so many humans fail. Most middle-aged adults have resigned themselves to failure." — Malcolm X
"You can’t let your failures define you. You have to let your failures teach you." ― Barack Obama
So you will see our failures as well as our successes and hopefully we can fail in places so you don’t have to. We will show not just the end product but how we got there; Also the unpolished truth of what is possible for those cooking at home, away from fancy industrial equipment and we will share our collective knowledge and experiences.
2021 is going to be a huge year for us, getting back to those things that make us truly happy and we cannot wait to share them with you.
On behalf of everybody here, I would like to take this opportunity and to welcome you to the Black Apron Family!!
A taste of things to come!
